A Song of Earth and Wind
Here’s a sprightly tune built around a melodic bass line featuring the u-he TyrellN6 VST plugin preset “Oddy Wow”. With a few other virtual instruments and drum loop sandwiched in, as always.
Bug-in-a-Box
Here’s a happy little tune put together whilst playing with the iOS Moog app Model D, based on the infamous Minimoog synthesizer from the 70s. PopUpliftingHappyDance Pop
Colonel Pop
This is a fairly laid-back tune with a pumpin’ bassline under piano layered with synth pads, wrapped in a percolating electronic marimba that elicits visions of a popcorn maker. Built upon a solid foundation drum loop by Looperman artist “abelouis”.
Auto at the Disco
Here’s a tune that sandwiches a Korg i3 workstation synth into the MIDI path of a Yamaha PortaTone keyboard’s auto accompaniment function set to Disco. Throw in a bit of live piano and some melodies played on the i3 and an old Korg MS-10 analogue synth, and you end up with this happy, poppy song.
Bwolaloolaloo
Here’s an uptempo track featuring a solid, pumpin’ drum loop by Looperman contributor “axeleon”, later perked up with some effected hi-hats courtesy of Looperman contributor “Krolbeats”. All wrapped in a percolating arp punctuated by a long-tail reverb’d pop sound.
Kettle Pop
Burnt Popcorn
This tune comes as the result of introducing myself to a very cool VST instrument named “Podolski” from u-he. One of the sounds evoked memories of the classic song “Popcorn”, so… title!
Rossomesauce
My partner Ross enjoys a wide array of musical styles, but he does so love his dance music. Particularly fast-BPM, upbeat dance pop. So this pumped dance piece was inspired by my totally Rossome guy. 🙂
StarDust ’97
This tune was inspired by a gorgeous guitar sample available in the iOS SampleTank add-on pack “American Acoustic”. Sprinkle some “stardust” arpeggiator and you’ve got a moderate-tempo, laid-back pop song perfect for graceful movements or time-lapse video.
