Jolly Jig of the Organ Grinder
Auto-accompaniment on a Yamaha YPT-320 with a stack of synths providing a perky melody.
The Eurotech Aztek Choir at Olympus
Pumping auto-accompanied supplied by the Yamaha MM6 with a synth brass chorus melody and chill vibraphone verses.
Monster Drums Mashup
This tune is the culmination of a playtime session with the free Monster Drums VST plugin. After exploring the free kits available (18 at the time of publishing), we settled on Agung’s Futura Kit, which inspired a funky bass line. The rest of the tune was built up around that.
Silver Spoons
A perky little ditty built primarily of selections from the Kontakt Komplete VST, with just a few assists sandwiched in.
A Song of Earth and Wind
Here’s a sprightly tune built around a melodic bass line featuring the u-he TyrellN6 VST plugin preset “Oddy Wow”. With a few other virtual instruments and drum loop sandwiched in, as always.
Bug-in-a-Box
Here’s a happy little tune put together whilst playing with the iOS Moog app Model D, based on the infamous Minimoog synthesizer from the 70s. PopUpliftingHappyDance Pop
Victoria’s Bouncy Dance
Here’s a holiday weekend creation using a few different arpeggiators together to build the accompaniment to a melody you can whistle along to.
Strolling in the Glades
Here’s a happy little pop tune that grew from a persistent melody I had running through my head one day. When I transcribed that melody, it found its muse in a whistle, and everything else just fell into place from there.
Cybell the Seer
Inspired by a somewhat eerie bell loop from Looperman artist Ov3rdos3, this upbeat tune morphs into a more cheerful energy before giving way to the chilliness again.
DK BLT
Another in the Soundfonts Series, this one paying homage to that video game classic, Donkey Kong Country.
