Bionic Cheesecake

song art for bionic cheesecake

Here is the result of a new multi-layered performance piano setup I tried out. The piano is not only filled out with long, sweeping synth pads but also accompanied by a pulsating arpeggiator creating a steady bass line. All following a dark, heavy drum loop that sounds like a mechanical heartbeat.

Last Gasp

Long, low drones of sweeping filtered synths speckled with creepy bell tones leads into a trippy trap rhythm by Looperman artist DjJssTin in this Halloween-themed piece.

Nightflight Over Sirius-B

Set your phasers to zen… here’s a composition of long, morphing synth pads, sprinkled with dabs of choir and electric piano and pulled along by a meandering Korg MS-10 melody. This song was created live on Twitch.tv/TransistorSandwich on Saturday, August 3 2019.

Cracking the Code

lovely old Korg DP-80 digital piano from 1986 sandwiched into a trap rhythm and a custom arp built from its short, blippy FM sound “Pop 1”. Rhythm by prodbyDELTA (looperman.com) SFX by CMUSoundDesign (freesound.org) Watch these tunes being created live every Saturday between 5pm-7pm EST.

The Streets of Belle Rose

A wide, sweeping pulse pumper of arps, bells and ambient drones. No drums, just a few choice percussion hits to catch you up to the arpeggiated bass.

Pale Blue Dot

This piece is a very Vangelis-imspired collection of sweeping pads, piano, flute and English horn. All aboard a chill 70bpm rhythm of percussion instruments.

Ten-Seventeen

Here’s a laid-back tune with a hypnotic slow but steady drum-n-bass groove under haunting leads from classic synthesizers like the Roland D-50 and the Korg MS-10.

Elkaseltzer

Recently my partner discovered this delightfully cheezy early 80s synth console, and I was quite happy to help haul the monstrosity up four stories and into the TranSan studio! This tune is a blend of modern with some sprinkling of Elka E-19 classic synth.

Soundcheck Swing

Here is a tune that’s been percolating on my back burner for nearly two decades! It’s a jazzy little swing piece that I frequently used for soundchecks at live performances. Now I’ve finally gotten around to recording it, and in TranSan style.

StarDust ’97

This tune was inspired by a gorgeous guitar sample available in the iOS SampleTank add-on pack “American Acoustic”. Sprinkle some “stardust” arpeggiator and you’ve got a moderate-tempo, laid-back pop song perfect for graceful movements or time-lapse video.
