Plop Goes the World

Here’s a tune that is of the most delightful piece of cheese! Constructed solely from a 90s-era portable keyboard, the Optimus MD-1600. This is the type of keyboard you would have found in a Radio Shack during the holiday season. And oh, what a perfect fit for the TranSan Studio! It has its strengths, it has its weaknesses… but it inspired this tune, crafted from the rhythm and auto accompaniment pattern “World Pop”.
Objection

A tune with a decidedly 80s flair, inspired by Animotion’s hit song “Obsession”. Built as a test of the freely available Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software Waveform.
000 Destruct Zero

This song is made entirely with the OB-Xd virtual synth, a VST designed to approximate the classic 80’s synth Oberheim OB-X.
Funky Tune

Another in my series of sound-alike tunes. This one is inspired by the classic synth hit “Funky Town”, both the Lipps Inc. and Pseudo Echo versions. PREVIEW
Christmas ’88

An 80’s-styled original for the holidays, featuring instruments from Drumtastic, Nil’s Kawai K1v, OB-Xd, Analog Lab V, Monster Drum, Mega Soundfont and a smattering of MuLab sounds. Watch this song being made with highlights from the TranSan Labs live stream:
Flying High

This tune began with inspiration from a bass arp provided by Melda Productions’ MPowerSynth VST, and grew into this final version with help from Analog Lab V, TyrellN6, Odin 2, Monster Drums and a few MuLab synths.
My Personal Hero

For this 80s style song, my muse was a newly discovered (but not new by any means) VST synth called Vaporizer2 by VAST Dynamics. The bulk of the sounds are from this plugin, with a few extra layers sandwiched in from MuTools, Monster Drums and LANDR Chromatic. Watch this song being made with highlights from the TranSan Labs live stream:
8-Bit BOB

A few selections from the GarageBand for iPad SoundPack “8-Bit Legends”, with some OB-Xd (Oberheim) VST and U-he Tyrell N6 VST sandwiched in.
Retro Split

This song grew out of a test run of a newly released free VST called RetroGrit Lite by Audiolatry, accompanied by the Yamaha YPT-320 with a little smattering of a Mulab synth sandwiched in.
Voyager 66

A decidedly 80’s anthemic synth-rock blaster with a catchy melody and uplifting spirit.
